out now: The Dolby Schatzmos mix of the new Landlady album
Hear the whole thing one month early in innovative spatial audio
It’s true. In an effort to drive pre-order sales through the absolute ceiling, I’ve fashioned a tasteful stunt, leaking the album one month early in the form of the Dolby Schatzmos Mix. What is Dolby Schatzmos you ask?
Dolby Schatzmos is the sound of someone listening to the album loudly in the apartment next to yours. So if you listen here and hang out the whole time, you’ll hear the sounds of your day occur in tandem with the sounds of the album happening next door. It’s real and stupid and me and a friend Andrew Fox (who does actual Atmos mixing) worked harder than we had to to make it real. Taking jokes to the absolute finish line is a bit of my specialty. See if you can make it to the end, there are some good easter eggs in there. Maybe it’ll be meditative (says the guy who isn’t great at meditating).
Two more songs from the album have been released on all the streamers, so that’s 4 so far, dig in and shout if you like ‘em.
I’m in the final week of the first Japanese Breakfast tour this year, the shows have been quite exciting and we’re really just getting better and better. In the quick break between this tour and the next, I’ve got Landlady album release shows in Brooklyn and Brattleboro, VT, they will be VERY fun and I hope you get a ticket and come. I dare you to even travel for one.
Huge thanks to everyone who ordered and LP, Tape or Digital version of the record on Bandcamp Friday , if you’ve been dragging your heels, pick em up today why don’t you and order here.
More more soon soon!
